Rebecca Spit

Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park is a protected 2km beach on the east side of Quadra Island. The eastern shoreline at Rebecca Spit is known for the driftwood that has accumulated on its shores. This is a great spot for a scenic walk and picnic, or for those with their own canoe or kayak, a calm paddle.

Hiking to panoramic vistas

Chinese Mountain

Located on mid Quadra Island, just off of Hyacinthe Bay Road, the Chinese Mountain trail is roughly 5km round trip. The hike to the top takes about 40 minutes, with a fairly steep incline; trust us, the trek is worth it for the spectacular views of the Discovery Passage.

Strathcona Park’s iconic falls

Lower Myra Falls

One of Strathcona Parks’ most iconic spots, Lower Myra Falls is located about an hour and a half drive from Campbell River. The trail is about 1 km, with an upper and lower viewing area. Spend your time admiring the view and the crystal-clear waters. While you can not collect points at this location as you are out of cell range, the views are your reward!

Mossy cascades

Lupin Falls

Lupin Falls is located in Strathcona Park along Buttle Lake Road, about an hour from Campbell River. The 20-minute looping trail around Lupin Falls leads through a mossy forest and over creek beds. The waterfall itself cascades down the high rocky bank to the creek below, making for fantastic imagery. While you can not collect points at this location as you are out of cell range, the view is your reward!

Discovery Pier

The Discovery Fishing Pier is popular with photographers for a reason! Extending 150 feet from the shore, you’ll find unobstructed views of the Discovery Passage and Islands. And while you’re there, participate in a Campbell River summer tradition and grab a giant ice cream cone.

Elk Falls
